I make the ceremony a celebration of your love. My specialty is designing and performing an inclusive, semi- or non-religious ceremony, from scratch, to reflect your particular view of things ... individually and as a couple. Written with a humorous, light-hearted hand, it's a ceremony to make your heart sing, create an indelible 20-to-35 minutes of giddy experience, and leave guests feeling uplifted by the joy you've found in one another.
Throughout the process, as your dedicated Wedding Officiant, I am at your service ... happy to lend you the benefit of my experience. You can leave everything to me. Because your ceremony script is original to you, you are not asked to choose from an array of pre-determined readings or a menu of canned wedding vows, for example.
Instead ... after you've retained my officiant services (for a flat fee that includes the Rehearsal), I send you each a Couple Questionnaire to fill out separately. This is the raw material from which I custom craft a compelling narrative that takes you, and your guests, on a journey through one of life's most important passages ... told in the language of your own irreducible hearts and through anecdotes.
But that's just the beginning. This is my full-time vocation, and you're my prime focus. So we're in regular contact, especially as your wedding approaches. About a week before, I liaison with your other Vendors and Reader so we're all working as a Team.
And if needed, I'll haul along my own portable P.A. system so that your guests may comfortably hear what's being said, especially if outdoors.
There's more, but I think you're getting an idea of the bespoke service I provide to ensure that the only hitch in your Ceremony is that you're married when all is said and pronounced "by the authority vested in me..."
As a licensed Wedding Officiant for the Commonwealth of Virginia, I travel throughout Central Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley to perform your ceremony at your chosen venue. My range includes Charlottesville and Albemarle county, where I resided for 18 years. And extends to places in and around Staunton, Harrisonburg, Wintergreen, Nelson County, Orange, Lexington, George Washington National Forest, Luray, Skyline Drive, the Blue Ridge Parkway, McGaheysville, the Omni Homestead in Bath... I'm also a deputized Wedding Officiant in Washington, D.C. Always up for an adventure, so try me!
Typically after a brief telephone chat about the basics of your wedding, the next step is for the three of us to arrange a meeting for a no-obligation free consult over coffee.
(Due to distance, we may default to a video chat via FaceTime or Skype.)
That's when we get down to envisioning your ceremony and start batting around ideas.
