Sovereignty #WeddingVows (Straightforward)

These are straightforward Wedding Vows, which nevertheless recognize that the two people who comprise the union always remain individuals, with his or her own ideas, beliefs, and action plans for how their happiness and purpose in life is to be fulfilled…but to the benefit of both.

Celebrant (to Groom):

Do you vow to hold <Name> first in your heart
from this day forward — as her loyal husband?
Will you always acknowledge her sovereignty?
Do you promise to communicate and listen
And to protect and respect her?
Will you make her laugh and to be there when she needs comfort?
Do you promise to forever be her best friend, and
To honor this union for all the days of your life?

Groom: I do
